What is a dieline?
A dieline is the flat, unfolded layout of a box. Solid lines show where the board is cut and dashed lines show where it folds. Your artwork is placed on top of it so the printed sheet folds into the finished box.
Which file format should I download?
Use PDF or SVG for artwork in Illustrator, Figma or Affinity. Use DXF if a die-maker or CAD tool needs the cut paths. PNG is a quick preview for mockups and approvals only.
Can I resize a template to a different box size?
Please don’t stretch a template. Panels, flaps and tuck depths change with the box dimensions, so a scaled file will not fold correctly. Open Box Studio, enter your exact size in inches and download a fresh dieline.
Do I need bleed on my artwork?
In most cases yes. Extend background color and imagery past the cut line so trimming variation never leaves a white edge, and keep important text and logos away from fold lines. Our team confirms bleed and safe zones before production.
Are the dielines free?
Yes. Templates in the library are free to download. You can also generate a custom-size dieline in Box Studio at no charge.
Need an exact size?
Enter your dimensions in inches and download a 1:1 dieline with separate cut and fold lines.
